In a country considered the most dangerous to be a woman, Rebuild Women’s Hope (RWH) was established by gender equality pioneer Marceline Budza, with the aim of empowering Congolese women and rebuilding hope and dignity for women coffee farmers. In 2017, Marceline won the Robert Burns Humanitarian Award for her role in helping transform the lives of women in DRC. Today RWH has expanded to 1,800 members growing high-quality arabica coffee and continues to build a spirit of entrepreneurship among the women on Idjwi island.
