Tabe Burka washing station is located in the Guji Zone, popular for producing outstandingly sweet red berry, candy flavoured coffees we all get excited! Founder Mr. Tadesse Edema has coffee in his veins, from a coffee-oriented family of 29 brothers. Tadesse collects his cherries from 300 small holders, about 3 hectares each and together they are part of five farmer groups. Tadesse pays the groups in advance which gives them an incentive to produce quality crops year after year. The water from the Burka River is used to wash the coffee which is then fermented for 24-36 hours. Naturals are dried for 15-18 days.
