Our last purchases of 2020 were 2 lots from the Koerintji Barokah Bersama Coop, made up of 320 small holders in the Kerinci Gunung Tujuh district, in Sumatra’s west. The Cooperative gives the farmers more leverage by assisting farmers with getting better prices for their cherries. They also share resources, organise training and in doing so, future proof their practices.
The cherries are pulped before being fermented in concrete baths or rice bags. They are then sun-dried for only 2-3 days with the remainder of the beans moisture being removed in a controlled environment when the beans are hulled.
When sourcing, we seek ethical coffees and sustainable opportunities to give back to the communities from which we source. Strong partnerships allow us to gather the finest single origin beans from naturally processed micro lots. We’re very excited to share this single with you and we can’t wait to continue our partnership with Indonesian farmers in the next year.
All Little Marionette single origin coffee beans are roasted at our warehouse in Rozelle in Sydney’s Inner West. Using only the best beans, our single origin coffee is roasted, ground, and packaged fresh to ensure maximum flavour. As with all our coffees, it is best enjoyed within 30 days. For maximum freshness, store your beans or ground coffee in a vacuum sealed or airtight container.
We offer free pickup on all orders so please drop by and we’ll make you a coffee in our warehouse café. We also offer free domestic shipping when you spend $50 or more.
